Arpheuilles is a small village in a rural setting in the Indre department of Central France. It has a small shop and bar and is on the edge of the Brenne regional nature park with its thousand lakes and abundant wild life. The park is very popular with walkers and cyclists as well as wildlife enthusiasts. The small towns of Chatillon (with links to Eleanor Aquitaine)and Buzancais are close by with supermarkets and restaurants. The medieval village of Palluau Sur Indre is just 4 miles away with its lovely chateau which has links to Richard the Lionheart and the Canadian province of Quebec. The capital of the department Chateauroux is approx. 20 miles distant and has larger supermarkets and many restaurants. Arpheuilles is just 40miles south of the Loire river with its many chateaux and vineyards. The interesting cities of Tours and Poitiers are 50 and 65 miles away and have airports with regular flights to the UK.
